Are You Physically Prepared For A Puppy Workout
If you have a new puppy and if she is the first one you have own then chances are you’ll be doing some walking if not some jogging. Because your new best friend is a little bit active is an understatement. Puppies like to play. Puppies have a lot of energy. So get ready to become a little more active. If your dog like s to pull you on her leash and if you haven’t been doing strength exercises for your upper body you may feel some soreness. It takes some strength to control a dog’s excitement when a squirrel suddenly darts in view.
So my advise would be to consider some upper body exercises. Upright rows using an resistance band is one exercise you can do. Resistance bands come in various resistance levels from lightweight resistance to heavy resistance. If you are a beginner try for the light resistance band at first and when it seems too easy just do more reps until you feel comfortable to move up in resistance. Bands are inexpensive so buying a few different levels of resistance at first is another way to go. So what is an upright row and how do you do it?
Upright row exercise: Stand both feet on the middle of the band. Knees slightly bent. Hold both ends and pull the band straight up close to the body upward toward the chest. Repeat.
