Internet Service Providers in San Francisco — Visit this Beautiful City Online

When you think of San Francisco, many magical images are no doubt conjured up in your mind.  Most folks imagine cable cars climbing up fog-shrouded hills. They smell the fish being offered in the stalls along Fisherman’s Wharf. They see the twinkling lights of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay Bridges at dusk. These days you can go right online and take a wonderful tour of the City by the Bay — and you don’t have to contact Internet service providers in San Francisco, either. All you have to do is use your current connection and search for videos and images to see and hear the sights and sounds of this magical city.

Network access has made touring the world a simple matter. There was a time when travel programs were common on local television stations. Hosts like Bill Burrud or Lowell Thomas would produce elaborate travelogues. Unless you could afford to travel, these shows were your only connection to exotic far-away places. Now you can see locally produced videos of every imaginable place on earth — right on your home computer screen. Climb aboard Old Ironsides in Boston Harbor; climb the steps up to the top of the Statue of Liberty; drive down the twists and turns of Lombard Street in San Francisco — it’s all there for you to experience online — thanks to the magic of the Internet.

Outdoor Candle Lighting Will Be The Finishing Touch For Your Outdoor Space

Outdoor lighting makes a beautiful evening outside even better, because you will enjoy the soft glow of the lights. You can get everything from deck lamps to candle holders. It is all just a matter of choosing what will work best for you in your situation. Some people really like the nice soft light of a candle lit porch. Others prefer solar powered lights that are attached to deck or fence posts. Whatever the case, you are sure to find what will work best for you.

Candle lighting is one of the most reliably beautiful forms of decorative lighting around. The light of a candle always has a beautiful soft glow that makes those cool fall evenings really enjoyable. Instead of the uncomfortable glare of a back yard floodlight, candles give off just the right amount of lighting for dinners, dessert or just a bit of friendly chatting over coffee. You will really enjoy what this form of outdoor lighting brings to your home.

Make sure you know how to maintain your lighting once you buy them. Does the candle need to be covered? How much sunlight do your solar lights need in order to function properly? Does the form of lighting you chose need any type of fuel? By answering these questions, you will make sure that the lights are ready and working whenever you need them. Not only will you be glad that you did this research, but your guests will be also.

Outdoor lighting is the icing on the cake. Maybe you don’t want the lights to be the centerpieces or focal points, but you definitely want them to accent your space. After all, you have spent time, money and energy getting your space to look exactly like you want it to. Shouldn’t you take the time to put on the finishing touches?

Check Internet Providers by Zip Code to learn if Your ISP is Hijacking Your Web Searches

A recent report indicated that there are certain internet service providers in the U.S. that hijack individual searches made by their customers in order to redirect them to affiliate sites that may result in commissions for the ISP.  The findings were released in a study this month done at UC Berkley. As an example, a consumer may enter a search phrase that contains the term “apple.” The ISP will then direct that consumer to a webpage advertising Apple computers.  Should the consumer purchase merchandise after visiting this web page, the ISP would then be rewarded with a commission. Twelve different ISPs were cited.  You can do a search for internet providers by zip code to see if any of the twelve are active in your area.

According to the report, most of the Internet service providers utilized a company called Paxfire.  Paxfire provides services specifically designed to monetize Internet searches. As a matter of fact, their principal business involves profiting off of traffic generated by DNS errors. The way it does this is by sending individuals who mistype a web URL into their browser to sales pages where they can earn a commission.  Internet service provider reviews indicate that some of the companies also used another Paxfire program designed to hijack and redirect web searches intended for Google, Yahoo and Bing via HTTP proxies.
