5 Reasons I Moved to the Country

I grew up in the city so it took some time to adjust, but ultimately I think I’m a lot happier out here in “the sticks.” Here are five reasons I moved to the country and decided to stay here.
Money
Holding onto your money in the city is impossible. No matter how much cash you make in a day’s work, just getting by in the city will eat right through your funds in half the time it took to earn it.
Real Estate Prices
Anyone who wants to be a millionaire might be wise to develop property out in the country. There are homes out here you can have for under twenty grand. Now and then you might even land a house for four figures. That never happens in the city.
Lower Crime Rates
Every community has to deal with crime. The solution? Get away from the community. I leave my keys in the ignition all the time because nobody’s walking all the way out here to steal my car.
The Peace and Quiet
Just being able to get to sleep at night without traffic rushing by my window, without loud neighbors, without block parties keeping me up, it’s something you won’t experience living in the city.
The Fresh Air
Finally there’s just the smell of fresh air. A part of me loves the city, but let’s be honest: it smells like garbage that somebody’s been microwaving all day. The country smells like pine trees, fresh air and a dozen other things they make incense and scented candles out of.
Now I miss the convenience of cable tv but my satellite dish works just fine!
